5'×5' storage
ABOUT

An independent reference for the smallest storage unit on the market.

Most storage search results are aggregator lead-funnels. They show you a $10 headline price that rolls to $50 by month two, link out to whichever operator pays the highest referral fee, and don't mention that the operator's own “5×5” might not actually exist at your nearest facility.

This site does the opposite. It answers the size question with arithmetic against real item dimensions, explains how a storage quote is structured so the month-two rate is not a surprise, and reports the one free public price series that covers the industry. The size decision happens before the price decision, which is the right order.

In September 2026 we withdrew the per-metro rate table and the national price figure this site used to carry. The table had been built from an operator's own listing pages, which is not something their terms allow, and the national figure leaned on a subscription rate product we had no licence to republish. We removed both rather than re-estimating them. The methodology page sets out exactly what changed.

Questions.

Reader questions go to [email protected]. They are read by a person, and the ones that expose a gap in the arithmetic here are the fastest way this site gets better.

Something the drawing doesn't answer?

Write in. Every question is read by a person, and we answer the ones we can with the source shown so you can check it yourself. If your question turns out to be one plenty of people have, we may put an anonymised version on the site, with your say-so first.

General reference only. Facilities are not uniform: a unit sold as a 5×5 can measure short, ceilings differ, and the rate you are quoted depends on the site and the month. Confirm dimensions and price with the operator before you sign.
